How To Bake A Quiche
Step One: Find Eggs
Step Two: Collect Eggs
Step Three: Assemble Utensils and Other Ingredients
Sliced mushrooms, sweet peppers, paprika, dill, oregano, basil, salt & pepper
Step Four: Start Mixing
Line a shallow flan dish with a couple of sheets of shortcrust pastry (you can use the frozen stuff - it's fine); whisk half a dozen or so eggs in a mixing bowl.
Step Five: Prepare the Pastry
Using a fork, poke holes in the pastry and then lightly cook in a hot oven (until the pastry just starts to become firm)
Step Six: Start Filling
After the pastry has firmed, remove from oven and allow to cool a bit. Then, sprinkle in a layer of grated cheese (cheddar, edam, or similar) and then add chopped mushrooms, sweet peppers, etc. along with the herbs.
Step Seven: Add More Paprika
You can never have too much paprika!
Step Eight: Fill 'er Up!
Gentle pour in the whisked egg mix and then cover with another layer of grated cheese.
Step Nine: Make It Pretty
Decorate with sliced tomato.
Step Ten: More Cheese!
Add a final layer of grated cheese and then garnish with dill.
Step Eleven: Ham It Up For The Camera
Step Twelve: Bake It!
Place the baking dish on a middle shelf in the oven and bake for 40 to 50 minutes in a medium-hot oven (dial set to about 8 o'clock - approx. 220C)
And that's all there is to it! Bon appetite!
